Sydney: Australian Cricket fans will once again be able to keep up with this summer’s action with the launch of the 2012/2013 Cricket LIVE Australia app.

Fans won’t be in danger of missing a moment of cricketing action as they watch the live stream of the Australian Cricket team taking on South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies, as well as all the teams in the entertaining KFC T20 Big Bash League.

Following its smash hit last year, the Vodafone Viewers Verdict makes a welcome return, giving fans a voice by allowing them to vote on key moments of the game live on Channel 9’s broadcast.

Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager Operations Mike McKenna said the app was making a welcome return for Australian cricket fans.

“Cricket Australia is excited to partner with Vodafone in an innovation which we believe puts fans first. No matter whether you are at a wedding, at the beach or watching your kids play cricket on the weekend – you will be able to keep up with all the action live on your mobile phone or tablet this summer.

“Cricket Australia, along with 3 mobile, were the first in Australia to stream sport via the mobile back in 2005, and since this app was launched with Vodafone three seasons ago it has been growing in popularity. Last year the Cricket LIVE Australia app was downloaded in record numbers and we expect more records this season as it easily breaks the million barrier mark,” said McKenna.

“Off the back of our huge success last year, the Cricket LIVE Australia app is back, bigger and better than before. In addition to the app, we’re taking cricket fanaticism one step further this year with the launch of the vBook, which is designed to hide your smartphone and features a range of cunningly disguised covers. With the vBook and the Cricket LIVE Australia app, fans can watch every over without ever raising suspicion,” said Stephen Saunders, Head of Sponsorship at Vodafone.

The Cricket LIVE Australia app is available to Australians with iPhone, iPad, and Android devices and includes a great range of features including live match video streaming, video match highlights and live scores straight from the ground.

Cricket Australia’s international summer of cricket kicks off at the Gabba in Brisbane on 9 November.

The Test series begins at the Gabba in Brisbane from November 9 to 13 before Tests at the Adelaide Oval from November 22 to 26 and the WACA in Perth  from November 30 to December 4.
