GCO Official Spokesman highlights most notable Cabinet decisions in Sept

Doha: The Official Spokesman for the Government Communications Office (GCO) highlighted the most prominent outcomes of the cabinet meeting held under the Chairmanship of  the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani during the month of September.

At the outset of his monthly presentation, GCO Official Spokesman Dr. Mohammed bin Nuwaymi Al Hajri stressed the Cabinet’s affirmation of what was stated in the speech of   Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani before the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. 

The GCO Official Spokesman pointed out the approach presented by H H the Amir to confront the challenges and crises that afflict many regions of the world. Also, the GCO Official Spokesman reiterated the Cabinet’s emphasis on the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the State of Qatar’s firm support for legitimate Palestinian rights, which H H the Amir expressed very clearly in his speech before the UN.

As for H H the Amir welcoming the people of the world during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the GCO Official Spokesman said that the Cabinet is closely following up on the arrangements and preparations for hosting a global version that reflects what H H the Amir expressed before the UN of the authentic traditions, history, and achievements of the Qatari society.

Regarding the Cabinet’s decisions related to local affairs during September, the GCO Official Spokesman pointed out the Cabinet’s approval of a draft Amiri decision establishing the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, stressing the importance of such a step in stimulating this vital sector, which falls within the economic and social development plans of the state. 

Also, the GCO Official Spokesman referred to the Cabinet’s approval of the Judicial Authority and Public Prosecution draft laws, indicating that the two draft laws contain statuary and regulatory provision in line with the general aspirations imposed by the significant development in the comprehensive national development.

Regarding the Cabinet’s approval of a draft Amiri decision to establish and organise the External Information Office, Al Hajri stressed that this step aims to convey an accurate image of the State of Qatar and represents a fundamental pillar within an integrated vision to enhance Qatar’s presence regionally and internationally, and consolidate the accurate image of the progress achieved by the State in various fields.

He added that this step comes in line with the strategic goals of the updated state emblem, which was inaugurated by H E Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
