Doha, Qatar: The International Qatari Search and Rescue Group affiliated with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has commenced its field missions to contribute to combating the widespread wildfires that broke out in the forests of the Kingdom of Spain, in cooperation with the competent authorities of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.
The team held a meeting with the Secretary General for Civil Protection and Emergencies at the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, with the participation of representatives from local authorities, to review the latest developments and current situations, and to develop a strategic plan for deployment and operations in the affected sites.
The team's field operations are based in the Pedralba de la Pradería municipality in the Ávila province of the Castile and León region in central Spain.
