Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General, addressing faculty members and students of National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Mohammad Bin Ali Al Noaimi - the Ambassador of Qatar in Bulgaria, Petar Stoychev Minister of Physical Education and Sports of Bulgaria, Stefka Kostadinova, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, and Prof Pencho Geshev Rector of the National Sports Academy were present for Sheikh Saoud address. In his speech, Sheikh Saoud focused on sport as a national strategy for development and highlighted several key ideas relating to Qatar’s 2030 National Vision and the National Sport Sector Development Strategy 2011–2016. He covered a range of subjects which included the importance of Education, investing in development programs and hosting of major sporting events, all factors implemented in order to reach Qatar’s goals and aspirations. The QOC delegation are in Bulgaria as part of the official mission of QOC. The QOC delegation visited some of the sport facilities in Republic of Bulgaria on Tuesday.
