Doha: Mishal Al Naimi and Saeed Al Sulaiti collected  victories as Qatar Superstock 600 witnessed exciting races again at the Losail International Circuit yesterday.

In the fourth round of the Qatar Superstock 600, Al Sulaiti ended up as winner followed by Nasser Al Malki and Al Naimi in third place.

Young Qatar’s Abdullah Al Qubaisi had an amazing performance leading the first race during the first seven laps but unfortunately he had a problem with the gear box and ended in fourth place.

Hungarian rider Balint Kovacs finished in fifth place.

Meanwhile, Essa Al Mutawa won the first race in the QSTK Trophy with Soud Al Thani in second place and Jassim Al Thani in third place.

In the second race of the day, during the first lap, Soud Al Thani crashed in turn 6 and the race was stopped with red flag.

After the restart with 10 laps left, Al Naimi pushed from the beginning taking the lead during the first five laps.

In the sixth lap, Al Sulaiti overtook Al Naimi and led the race but Al Sulaiti crashed in turn 15 at the last penultimate lap, being able to rejoin the race but Al Naimi took the victory.

Al Naimi is leading the championship only one point ahead of Al Sulaiti.

Nasser Al Malki finished again in second place of the podium and Abdullah Al Qubaisi in third place.

In the QSTK Trophy the second race winner was Jassim Al Thani and Essa Al Mutawa finished second.

The Kuwaiti rider Mohammad Al Zaidan ended the race in third place.

Al Sulaiti was happy with his win the first race but disappointed with the result in the second race. “In the first race, I was not expecting this result as I had a bad day yesterday during the practices trying to find the right set up with these conditions and it was tough so I did some changed today and it was better.  “In the second race, I had a good start and I knew that Mishal will be strong with new tires. In the middle of the race I caught up Mishal but unfortunately in corner 15, I lost the front. Not happy with the crash, this is the second of the season but still there are some points and have the chance to come back.”

For Al Naimi, the weekend was very good as he is back on top of the table. “In the first race I had a problem with my arm and I tried to stay in the front group but not possible at the beginning. Later I pushed and I managed to be in second position but in the last lap I couldn’t break and control the bike so Nasser passed me and I finished third,” he said.

“Overall very happy with the results as I am again leading the championship,” he added.

Meanwhile, Essa Al Mutawa is now leading the QSTK trophy and hopes to keep the same performance.

“In the second race I tried to win again and I pushed until the last four laps, but I had chattering in the front tyre,” he said.

Trophies were presented by Abdulrazak Al Kuwari (QMMF General Secretary) and Juan Baquero (CEO Losail Circuit Sports Club).

The fifth round of Qatar Superstock Championship will take place on April 6 and 7.
