Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the expansion of retail operations across the country, in light of the current regional developments.
Across its social media platforms yesterday, MOCI stated that the number of outlets operating 24 hours a day has been increased to 33 branches, aiming to maintain market stability and the seamless continuity of supply chains.
By increasing the number of service points, the Ministry provides the public with flexible access to essential goods at any time, effectively reducing peak-hour congestion and ensuring a steady flow of consumer traffic.
This decision aligns with MOCI’s broader mandate to protect consumer interests and stabilise the domestic market against external fluctuations.
The expansion reflects a coordinated effort between the government and major retail partners to ensure that the needs of all citizens and residents are met without interruption.
Data from the Ministry indicates that the national supply chain remains robust, supported by significant strategic reserves of both food and non-food commodities.
MOCI has confirmed that inventory levels for basic goods are being monitored in real-time to prevent any potential shortages.
This data-driven approach allows for the rapid redistribution of resources as needed, ensuring that all 33 designated branches remain fully stocked with high-quality products.
The Ministry has also intensified its field inspection campaigns to oversee market activity. The teams are tasked with verifying price compliance, preventing violations, and ensuring that the quality of available goods meets national standards.
MOCI emphasised that these oversight efforts are continuous and designed to maintain a fair commercial environment, urging the public to rely exclusively on official announcements and to report any commercial irregularities through the dedicated communication channels.
The 33 authorised branches include major Al Meera branches in Al Mansoura, Legtaifiya, Al Wakrah, Al Thumama, Ain Khaled, Al Wajbah, Rawdat Egdaim, Izghawa (Old), Hazm Al Markhiya, Al Khor, Rawdat Al Hamama, Bu Sidra, Jeryan, Jenaihat, and Muraikh.
