Doha: After lifting the Falcon Shield for second successive time, Al Sadd have shifted their focus on retaining their Amir Cup title again. The Wolves, however, also aim to cap another dominant season with victories.

This is what Al Sadd coach Javi Gracia said ahead of their today’s penultimate clash of the QNB Stars League against Al Khor.

“We are always thinking about winning, and how we can get three points. It will be a tough match for us against Al Khor,” Gracia said yesterday.

“We will play with the best 11 players we have. All our players are ready but I won’t select some players who need a break to recover.”

Al Sadd have not suffered a defeat in 45 QSL games, which is a new record.

Meanwhile, Al Khor are hoping to avoid relegation as they are 11th with 13 points, just one ahead of bottom side Al Sailiya.

Al Khor coach Andre Lima said: “Of course, we will face the champions, but we have 90 minutes to give off everything we have and everything is possible.”

“We are in a very difficult and uncomfortable situation, we got some points, but we had to get more points, and we have to fight to the last moment and see what happens,” he added.

Meanwhile, Al Sailiya will meet Al Ahli today as they seek to avoid a bottom finish.

The Sami Trabelsi-side is last on the table with 12 points from 20 games, trailing 11th-placed Al Khor by a point.

“The match is very important for us, like all the past games, and we have no room for mistakes during the match, and we should focus 100 per cent. And also work hard to achieve a positive result in this match,” assistant coach Amine Farikha hoped said yesterday.

“We must be in full focus as the match is very important and we are in a very bad and difficult position because we are at the bottom of the table,” he added.

After match against Al Ahli, Al Sailiya will face Al Gharafa in their final QSL game on March 11.
