The iconic Lusail Boulevard once again became the centre of attraction with the hosting of the Darb Lusail Flower Festival. The unique three-day gala, organised by the Qatari Diar, attracted a huge number of citizens and residents until the final day on Saturday.
The festival that took place for the first time delivered a great experience to all families as they enjoyed the spring season. In fact, the proceedings over the three days revived memories of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and Eid Al Fitr activations when Lusail Boulevard became one of the hubs of entertainment activities.
During the festival, the public enjoyed various carnival activities including memorable attractions for children. The Flower parade that took place twice daily during the fes-tival was liked by all. The floral floats in different shapes and patterns were decorated with a variety of flowers. The characters and performers parade that involved more than 100 fun and interactive characters also amused the audiences.
The Lusail Boulevard was designated for pedestrians to give visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy the celebration in one of the most famous tourist destinations in Qatar. A display of China’s culture, including a wagon carrying a Chinese temple adorned with vibrant green leaves and white doves, was also a delight for the public.
The African performers wearing floral head garments in green, red and orange, shared by many flags in Africa, also stole the limelight.Many visitors, who also attended the Qatar 2022 activ-ities six months ago at the iconic venue, termed their expe-rience as “nostalgic”.
“Being there made me feel nostalgic and brought back the excitement of celebrating different cultures at the World Cup,” said visitor Lana. “It was a time for people from different nations to come together, to adopt and learn about each other’s cultures.”
By marking another resounding success, Lusail Boul-evard, once again won hearts proving itself as one the best tourist destinations not only in Qatar but in the entire region. The close proximity to the Lusail Metro station also plays key role in making festivals at the magnificent 1.5km venue successful. The amazing architecture, retail, entertainment, restaurants and cafes, pedestrian and cycling pathways deliver a memorable experience to all visitors.
With Qatar set to host many events in the coming months, the Lusail Boulevard would continue to be a top destination for all visitors across the world. It is also likely to be a hub of entertainment activities for the visiting fans when Qatar will stage the AFC Asian Cup, hosting 24 top continental sides early next year
