The 11th meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, held in Doha yesterday and co-chaired by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of Turkiye H E Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stands as a new milestone in the ever-deepening partnership between the two nations.

Over the years, Qatar and Turkiye have cultivated a relationship built on mutual respect, strategic trust, and a shared vision for regional stability and prosperity. The latest session of the committee not only reaffirmed this bond but also charted new avenues of cooperation. The signing of several memoranda of understanding across vital sectors including defence industries, trade, and strategic development planning underscores the strength of this partnership. These agreements represent a coordinated effort to strengthen economic resilience and foster innovation.

Equally important is the shared humanitarian and moral stance that Qatar and Turkiye continue to take on pressing regional issues. Their discussions on the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories reflected a unified commitment to peace, justice, and the alleviation of human suffering. In emphasising the need for concerted international efforts to sustain the ceasefire and ensure humanitarian access, Doha and Ankara reaffirmed their roles as advocates of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The meeting between Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Turkish Foreign Minister H E Hakan Fidan further highlighted the operational depth of bilateral ties, extending the strategic dialogue into actionable cooperation. As H H the Amir noted in his post on X, Qatar and Turkiye’s historical relations and exemplary cooperation are progressing toward broader and promising horizons. Indeed, this partnership—rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and common purpose—continues to evolve as a model of modern diplomacy in the world. In a time when global alliances are shifting, the Qatar–Turkiye relationship remains a beacon of strategic consistency and principled leadership, advancing not only the interests of both nations but also the broader cause of regional peace and stability.
