Another edition of the much anticipated Made in Qatar exhibition will be held in Doha in a couple of months. The event, in its ninth edition this year, showcases products and services originating from Qatar. It highlights the country’s local industries, innovations, and achievements, aiming to promote domestic production, entrepreneurship, and economic diversification. It serves as a platform for businesses and entrepreneurs to connect with potential customers, investors, and partners, both domestically and internationally.

The exhibition, under the patronage of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is organised by the Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) and will be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from November 29 to December 2, 2023.

The Made in Qatar exhibition is a significant showcase of Qatar’s homegrown products and services, designed to bolster the nation’s self-sufficiency and promote its industries. The exhibition provides a platform for local businesses to exhibit their creations to a wider audience. Qatar has over the years set up world-class infrastructure to support its industries, especially in the private sector. This was augmented by enacting progressive legislation enabling businesses to prosper and also encouraging new entrepreneurs to set up small and medium-sized businesses while following internationally accepted best practices and processes.

Local industry also played a key role in the very successful hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as they were instrumental in supplying the high-quality products and services required for the smooth organising of one of the biggest tournaments in the world, thus showcasing the development and progress local industry has achieved over the years. Another aspect of Made in Qatar exhibition is that it facilitates Qatari products to penetrate global markets, which is the natural next step for an industry which has proven its mettle in terms of quality, inventiveness, and service. The exhibition attracts both local and international visitors, including foreign investors and businesses. This exposure helps Qatari businesses expand their reach beyond the local market.

This year’s edition will also see over 100 productive families showcasing their products in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. This is a significant step as it encourages even small investors to contribute to nation-building by growing domestic production. This in turn contributes to self-sufficiency and helps increase the value of brand Qatar in the world market. The exhibition reflects Qatar’s commitment to diversifying its economy and nurturing a vibrant ecosystem of local businesses and entrepreneurs.
