Qatar is all set to host mega sporting event with thrilling side activities within a month now for which all preparations from testing world-class venues to giving final shapes to cultural events have been made.
With eight state-of-the-art stadiums ready to stage 64 matches between November 20 and December 18, Qatar has proven its readiness to deliver the ‘best World Cup ever.’ The 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium is the venue for the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador on November 20, while the Lusail Stadium will host the final on December 18, on Qatar National Day.
Meanwhile FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security Committee has also concluded the tabletop exercises (TTX) that were implemented by the entities participating in the exercise Watan 2022 within the framework of the preparations made to initiate the field exercises on October 24, 2022. In addition, a broad range of leaders, professionals and experts had participated in the tabletop exercises to review the detailed and operational plans and goals.
Many government and private entities will organise an array of cultural and art activities to make the sporting event more colourful for visiting fans. Qatar Museums’ activities include 17 exhibitions in five museums. It will also include 10 high-level events and three festivals among others.
Katara will organize 51 events, and 300 sub-events will be branched with the participation of 22 countries. The events will take place from November 18 to December 18. Katara will also organise concerts by international bands from Argentina, the UK, and Arab countries, given that music is a universal language shared by everyone.
Qatar Foundation has also revealed the set of events and activities that Education City will host throughout the duration of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be available for everyone to participate in and enjoy. The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) will organize hundreds of events in nine areas. The SC released on August 24 a 54-page guide with all the details of the activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The four Arab football teams – Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Morocco – are participating in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 making it more special for Qataris and citizens of Arab countries.
The stadiums are located within one hour of each other, meaning fans can see more than one match in a day. Besides, several infrastructures like the rail system, road networks, hotels, apartments, and airports have been built or upgraded to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable tournament.
