Qatari-Kuwaiti relations have remained robust, bolstered by close coordination between the wise leaderships of both nations and their unwavering commitment to strengthening ties across diverse fields. This has evolved the historical connections from mere bilateral cooperation into a comprehensive strategic partnership, fostering integration across multiple domains. Cementing the strong ties further Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani led well-wishers to welcome Amir of the State of Kuwait H H Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah on his arrival yesterday at the Amiri Terminal of Hamad International Airport on a state visit to the country.

They held a session of official talks where the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to bolster them and exchanged views on the prospects of promoting joint Gulf action to enhance regional security and stability.

Qatar and Kuwait issued a joint statement, which praised the growth of trade relations and bilateral investments between the two countries as the volume of trade exchange until October 2023 reached $1.94bn. They stressed the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation and economic partnership between them, achieving integration between the opportunities available in both countries, and exploring and developing economic opportunities in light of Qatar Vision 2030 and Kuwait Vision 2035.

The two sides also expressed their aspiration to convene the 6th session of the Qatar-Kuwait Joint Higher Cooperation Committee scheduled to be held this year in Doha, and to work on implementing the agreements, memorandums of understanding and joint programs that were agreed upon. The two sides noted the close cooperation between them in political, military, security, economic, cultural, scientific and sports fields, and other areas of cooperation. The committee played a prominent role in sealing several agreements in many fields, which contributed greatly to increasing the pace of economic cooperation between the two countries in an unprecedented manner.

HH the Amir said that talks with HH Amir of Kuwait dealt with the two countries’ aspirations to bolster existing bilateral relations and the joint Arab and GCC action.  The relationship between these two states is deeply rooted in history, exemplifying integration, solidarity, and collaboration within the region and throughout the entire Arab world.

The commitment of the political leadership in both nations is evident in their determination to elevate these relations to higher, more integrated levels. In recent years, these relations have developed substantially, marked by converging perspectives on political and economic fronts and a shared vision regarding regional and international issues.

Regular visits, messages, and communications between senior officials underscore the distinguished partnership between Qatar and Kuwait.
