Stop Israeli aggressions

Qatar yesterday reiterated its call for the end of Israeli violations against Palestinians. The State of Qatar has time and again urged the international community to reign in Israeli aggression, which has been on the rise in the last many days, with many innocent Palestinians getting killed and losing their homes.

The Israeli right-wing government has been disregarding the calls by international organisations and countries to end all unilateral measures and escalation of violations.

Yesterday at the 53rd World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani urged the world to stop the Israeli government from taking such actions.

“There is a very big concern in the region with what’s happening in Palestine with all these provocative policies. We would like to see a real stand from our allies and partners to stop the Israeli government from taking such actions and this is applied also to the suffering of the Syrian people and others. We would really want to see an end for this war in Ukraine and see everyone abiding with the charter of United Nations. We want to see an end of the suffering of the Ukrainian people as soon as possible as well as other people in the world,” the Deputy Prime Minister said at the meeting.

“We are looking at the world, mobilising only for specific cases and specific causes, and we’ve been in the Middle East suffering for decades from all violations for UN Charter, including the Palestinian-Israeli issue and the Syrian issue and a lot of other things going on. We would like to see the same world stand for these kinds of causes because unfortunately we still see them unaddressed and continuing,” he added.

In the recent past, the occupation forces and settlers have escalated violations and attacks against the Palestinian people, especially after Netanyahu’s government came into power. There were many instances of settlers storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy guard by the Israeli forces.

In a statement, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the UN Security Council to assume its legal and moral responsibilities toward the suffering of the Palestinian people by translating its stances and words into action.

A whole population is being held captive by an occupying force making their daily life difficult and extremely dangerous. Its high time the international community stood against these violations in unity and stop the bullying of innocent people.
