According to the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, the nation aims to develop a workforce that can meet its needs and develop the country. It is no secret that Qatar relies on expatriate labour due to its population. Nevertheless, the government has always prioritised ensuring the citizens remain actively involved in the country’s growth.
Qatar can only develop its economy and society with its human capital and resources -- its people, the QNV states. Job creation requires a stable macroeconomic framework coupled with structural policies that encourage innovation, skills and business development, all of which Qatar has been proactive in implementing and promoting.
Human development, according to the QNV 2030, entails a holistic and modern healthcare infrastructure that caters to all and an educational system at par with the highest international standards, preparing Qatar’s students to take on the world’s challenges and become tomorrow’s innovators, entrepreneurs, artists and professionals. Moreover, a world-class education system and equal opportunities will propel Qataris to increase their role in all sectors of their country’s economy.
To boost the chances of Qataris and ensure they are fully engaged and assimilated into productive positions in government and the private sector, citizens may search and apply for job vacancies in Qatar offered by various entities on Kawader National E-Recruitment Portal. The portal is designated for jobs affiliated with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Labour and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau announced that as many as 7,127 jobs were created for Qatari citizens across the nation’s public and private sectors in 2022, per the Recruitment Statistics 2022.
The public sector created the most job opportunities over the past year, with over 5,000 citizens hired. New positions were predominately filled by women, who made up 69% of new hires. Primary Healthcare Cooperation, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Hamad Medical Corporation had the most hires within the government. However, most job opportunities were recorded in the Ministry of Municipality, the Supreme Judiciary Council and the General Authority of Customs. The private sector hired 1,850 Qatari citizens.
