Qatar and Egypt share deep-rooted historical ties built on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common vision for the future. These relations, grounded in unity of purpose and destiny, continue to grow and thrive, thanks to the shared commitment of both countries’ leadership to further develop and diversify bilateral cooperation.
The leadership of the two countries on Sunday discussed in a phone call the situation arising from Iranian attacks against Qatar. The Egyptian President extended Egypt’s solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing its readiness to provide various forms of support and assistance, and stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab action to consolidate security and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian leader in a verbal message to H H the Amir delivered through Egyptian Foreign Minister condemned the Iranian aggression against Qatar and other countries of the region, and efforts being made to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. The meeting also discussed relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.
The Foreign Ministers of the two countries also discussed the developments resulting from military escalation in the region and its repercussions on the regional and international security and stability, and ways to resolve disputes peacefully.
In line with the shared commitment of the Qatari and Egyptian leaderships to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Doha and Cairo, the Egyptian President visited Qatar in April 2025.
The visit aimed at enhancing coordination between the two countries to address issues impacting Arab security, the legitimate aspirations and rights of Arab people, and to foster Arab unity.
The Qatari-Egyptian summit in Doha underscored the determination of the leadership of the two countries to deepen cooperation and coordination for the benefit of the two countries.
Qatar-Egypt relations witnessed a dynamic momentum, marked by reciprocal visits between the two leaders. In June 2022 and in November 2023, H H the Amir visited Egypt to strengthen bilateral ties, especially in the field of investment, energy, defence, culture and sports.
In March last year, Doha hosted the fifth session of the Qatar-Egypt Joint Supreme Committee. The session reviewed the growing cooperation between the two nations and explored ways to further develop their ties in the areas of trade, investment, diplomacy, social affairs, education, youth, and sports. During the session, a number of memoranda of understanding and cooperation programmes were signed between the two sides in areas such as investment, diplomacy, social affairs, public education, youth, and sports.
