Keeping societies secure is the highest goal pursued by all countries. In this regard and under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the 13th edition of international exhibition for homeland security and civil defense (Milipol Qatar 2021) was inaugurated by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

Organized by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with Paris-based event organizer Comexposium, the exhibition which is held every two years, this year focuses on homeland security and civil defence amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

As one of the leading destinations for mega sporting events, Qatar seeks to take advantage of the latest technical systems to enhance the safety and security of huge international events, such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup. On the sidelines of the event, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior witnessed the signing of an agreement between Qatar and France to establish a partnership in the areas of security for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as signing of a protocol between the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Italian Republic in the fields of public order and security management of major sport events.

Milipol Qatar is witnessing a remarkable development from one edition to another, in terms of increasing the number of participating countries and the quality of the technologies presented.
