The strategic partnership of Qatar and Turkiye is strengthening with every passing day and friendship of both the countries’ leadership and peoples is time-tested based on foundations of mutual respect.
The holding of 8th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, which was chaired by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of Turkiye H E Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with signing of a number of agreements reflects the strength of bilateral ties.
During the meeting, both discussed the strong strategic relations between the two countries in various fields, especially the political field, trade, economic and investment partnership, energy, industry, transportation, education and media, in addition to strengthening cooperation in the health and tourism sector and projects related to hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
H H the Amir explained that holding this session’s meeting coincides with the passing of fifty years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which witnessed great development, looking forward to intensifying coordination and continuing to discover more opportunities between the two sides.
The Turkish President noted the importance of the meetings of the Supreme Strategic Committee further praising the will of the two countries and their aspiration to deepen and enhance cooperation and solidarity.
In a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Mevlut Cavusoglu Mevlut Cavusoglu yesterday in Istanbul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that the two sides agreed to keep enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, investment, and trade fields, in addition to enhancing cultural relations and ties between the two peoples.
Meanwhile Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani said that ties between Qatar and Turkiye have improved to a level of partnership, integration, and coordination in all fields. Former Advisor to the Turkish President, Dr. Yasin Aktay affirmed that Qatar is an example to be follow in settling many disputes between the different parties, resolving crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, and serving humanitarian work around the world.
President of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye Ahmet Burak Daglioglu said Qatari investments in Turkiye have reached a high level.
Chairman of the Qatari-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Turkish Parliament, Vahit Kiler hailed the depth of relations between the two countries, and stressed the keenness of the two leaderships to develop the existing strong bilateral relations in various fields, for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
