Double standards, silence must end

The occupation forces continued for the third consecutive day with air raids and aggression directed at the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing and wounding of tens of Palestinians, including several children, said officials in the crowded coastal territory. The attacks also left significant destruction of civilian buildings and installations.

The three-day Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip is considered the worst escalation in months that has risen the number of martyrs to 26 after three Palestinians were killed at dawn yesterday by occupation aircraft targeting a residential apartment northwest of the city of Khan Younis, south of Gaza Strip. At the same time, 64 Palestinian civilians are reported to be seriously wounded.

Consequently, the Palestinian resistance factions fired rocket rounds from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli cities and settlements in response to the ongoing aggression against the Strip as part of the resistance’s operation called ‘Vendetta Al-Ahrar’.

Israeli defence system failed to intercept most of them, and these rockets hit their targets. This indicates that the resistance is developing its weapons and means of defence and will one day reach the level of deterrence and parity of force with the enemy once and for all.

The international community, as usual, did not go beyond calls for a cease-fire, renunciation of violence, and crying for the victims’ souls. These double standards characterise the current world order and persistence in double standards when it comes to Israel, despite the destruction of homes over their inhabitants, including women and children.

Although many parties mediate to end the aggressions, while Israel tries to display its strength and military and technological capabilities against innocent civilians in besieged Gaza Strip.

The occupation forces do not listen to any of the parties because the blood of the Palestinian people is being used as part of political propaganda among extremist groups in Israel and aimed at diverting the attention of its citizens from their internal problems.

The Israeli aggressions against the Palestinians have escalated since the coalition controlled power late last year. The country has been shaken by its biggest domestic political crisis in decades as mass protests have flared against plans to reform the justice system, spearheaded by the prime minister, who is also battling corruption charges in court.

In such a situation, Israel’s aggression must stop, and the international community’s double standards and silence policy must also end and bring the aggressors to justice.
