Qatar has succeeded more than the expectations. The way the country is hosting the FIFA World Cup is amazing. For the fans, who want to enjoy the festivities it is a place to be, but without troubling the ones who aren’t interested.

As the global tournament has entered the semi-final stage, the past three weeks filled with thrilling action and quality entertainment tell the success story of Qatar’s remarkable capability in organising mega events.

Qatar has reached this far without a flaw which is incredible for a country hosting over one million fans in the most compact World Cup in modern history. The flow of traffic remains smooth, arrangements are up to the mark at stadiums during matches attended by capacity crowds, while country’s safety and security measures have proved to be a big success with no major security incident or crime reported so far.

Fans particularly the female enthusiasts have been rating Qatar as safest country during interviews with media outlets and on social media platforms. The most amazing aspect of this World Cup – the first in the Middle East and the Arab world – is how the Qataris are showing their generosity to fans who have come from different parts of the world.  In the venues like Al Thumama Stadium surrounded by residential area, the Qatari residents have been offering free snacks and drinks to fans passing by before and after the matches on counters set outside their houses. It is a great gesture, showing the Arab culture and big hearts of people in Qatar.

On the pitch too, the World Cup has seen moments which will live in the memories of fans for a long time. After many upsets in the group stage, the knockout phase is continuing to throw up surprises. Morocco’s victory over Spain in the last-16 stage made them the first Arab country to reach the quarter-finals. The side then defeated Portugal to become the first African side to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals. Croatia knocked hot favourites Brazil out of World Cup in their quarter-finals.

While hundreds of thousands of fans are attending the thrilling action, the football showpiece is continuing to engage TV audiences around the world with record-breaking numbers being recorded across multiple markets. The numbers which have come in earlier stages of the tournament has seen a sharp rise in the viewership in all continents.

The entertainment activities, meanwhile, are in full swing with FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park welcoming thousands of fans on daily basis. Plenty of entertainment is still on the cards in the next seven days with the historic World Cup set for fitting conclusion on the Qatar National Day.
