Despite toxic media campaigns, baseless allegations, rumour mongering and conspiracies hatched in more than one place to thwart Qatar’s efforts to host the World Cup, the tournament is being held in a festive carnival atmosphere and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches are organised smoothly and safely.
On the way to the World Cup, Qatar faced many challenges including constant Western scepticism about its ability to organise the event, but Qatar has been moving for twelve years with a steady pace and a heart full of confidence. Last Friday (December 2) coincided with the 12th anniversary of the announcement that the State of Qatar won the bid to host the most prominent global football event.
Qatar rose up to the expectations, promises and challenges to host one of the most important events in the history of Qatari, Gulf and Arab sports, which is winning praise at regional and global levels.
The past 12 years were full of challenges and witnessed tremendous efforts at all levels which finally culminated in the presentation of an exceptional, unprecedented and unique version of the World Cup tournaments in its history. The anniversary of Qatar’s winning the right of hosting the World Cup 12 years ago on December 2, also coincides with the end of group stage matches, and announcements made by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy of launching a new Hayya Card option which will allow non-ticketed fans to enter the country and attend the FIFA World Cup starting from the day after the conclusion of the group stage.
Thus, Qatar offers another chance for more fans to visit Qatar and experience the special atmosphere of the first FIFA World Cup in one of the small countries of the Middle East.
The ‘Early December’ option of Hayya Card feature, which allows fans without tickets to apply for a Hayya Card, remained valid after midnight on December 2. The Hayya Card is mandatory for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans to access stadiums with a valid match ticket, entry to the FIFA Fan Festival and for free public transport.
As the tournament has moved to the stage of knockout, Qatar celebrates its successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup, as it kept its promise to hundreds of thousands of fans from across the world for an unrivalled festival of football and the exchange of cultures. After observing the entire environment and cultural context where the matches are taking place, the exceptional presentation has started getting praise from regional and global levels including hundreds of thousands of fans, heads of state and top officials from different countries.
