H H the Amir had discussions with H M King of Carl XVI Gustaf and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm on ways to develop bilateral trade and economic relations and to enhance cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples. His Highness said that the friendship and ties between both countries have spanned over 50 years, looking forward to leveraging this distinguished relationship to consolidate a constructive and mutual partnership that fulfils the aspirations of both nations. Economically, Qatar and Sweden have much to gain from closer ties. Trade between the two countries has been growing, with a 79% increase reaching QR 1.55bn in 2023. This growth shows a lot of benefits from economic collaboration, particularly in sectors like energy, technology, and heavy industries.
