The ties between Qatar and Turkey just not cover a wide range of fields from trade to culture rather they are strategic in nature and the bonds of mutual respect and cooperation between the leaders and the people of both the countries are growing deeper with every passing day.

Both the brotherly states have stood with each other through thick and thin and also adopt a uniform diplomatic approach towards different issues emerging in the region and beyond.

Yesterday, Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, opened the Qatari-Turkish Business Forum ‘Investment Opportunities in Qatar’, organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, the Qatar Chamber and the Turkish Ministry of Customs and Trade in Ankara.

H E the Prime Minister delivered a speech on the occasion, saying that the common denominators between the two countries constitute a solid base for the development and strengthening of economic and trade relations between the two countries, in addition to the significant development witnessed in bilateral trade relations under the agreements concluded, especially the economic and trade partnership, which is a clear evidence of the effectiveness of the decisions and actions taken in recent years in implementation of the directives of the leaders of the two countries.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, held an official talks session at the presidential palace in Ankara. H E the Prime Minister also met with the Minister of Interior in Turkey, Suleyman Soylu, and discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and prospects of developing them in addition to a number of matters of mutual interest.

H E the Prime Minister at His Excellency’s residence in Ankara, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu. “Turkey, with its functional economy continues to be a safe haven for Qatari investments, whose total value is approaching $22bn,” said the Ambassador while addressing a reception hosted to celebrate 96th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey at his residence.
