8 IS members detained over suspected attack plan

ANKARA: A total of eight Islamic State members have been detained by the anti-terror branch of the Ankara Police on Saturday.

The IS members were detained at the end of a successful security operation.

Police belive the eight IS members were planning to carry out a terror attack in the new year's eve.

As part of the operation, the police officers seized many organization related documents at the locations where the eight IS members stayed.

A total of 277 people have lost their lives in IS terror attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bomb attacks, rocket attacks, and long-barreled gun attacks.
