Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim meeting with delegations from the Federal Parliament (Bundestag) of Germany, in Doha, yesterday.
Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met with three delegations from the Federal Parliament (Bundestag) of Germany, who are currently visiting the country, yesterday.
During the meeting, they reviewed the existing cooperation and relations between the Shura Council and the Bundestag, and ways to enhance and develop them.
The Speaker mentioned to the German delegation that colleagues from the European Parliament visited Qatar at the beginning of October as part of the parliament’s efforts to learn about the latest reforms undertaken by Qatar in the areas of human rights, labour and labour laws, and preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The high-level delegation carried out field visits and direct meetings with many members of society, and felt the extent of development and reforms achieved by Qatar with regard to human rights and workers’ rights. The delegation praised the great measures taken by Qatar in this aspect, and the results of that visit were very positive.
Shura Council members H E Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, H E Khalid bin Ahmed Al Obaidan, H E Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, and H E Abdulla bin Nasser Alsubaey also attended the meeting.
