Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a session of official talks with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. Talks dealt with bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in all fields, particularly economy and investment.
The meeting also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including developments in the Middle East.
The Emir and the President of Belarus attended the signing of a number of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
MoUs in the fields of financial affairs and health between Qatar and Belarus, scientific and academic cooperation between Qatar University and the Governmental University of Medicine of Belarus, and between Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and the Company Development Bank Of the Republic Of Belarus were signed.
The signing ceremonies were attended by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and a number of ministers.
On the Belarusian side, the talks were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the president. Emir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the visiting leader and the delegation.
