DOHA: More than 600,000 people from 150 countries worldwide visited the educational portal of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) during the first six months since its launch.
The portal provides online consultation to Arab and Muslim students to help them get scholarships and admission in top international universities.
The portal includes 4,876 materials related to scholarships, training courses and fellowships for research scholars, among others.
Academic experts, including senior professors in international universities, have been assigned to reply to student queries online. So far, more than 26,250 consultations have been made with the visitors to the website.
‘RAF Platform’ is accessible on http://www.raf-minha.com and the portal is in Arabic but RAF plans to add English language so that more students, especially from some African countries, can benefit.
Queries, for example, included how to apply for admission in universities in Germany, about the availability of scholarships to study in European countries, how to apply for the scholarship of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah University Education in Malaysia and how to get a scholarship to pursue studies in foreign universities.
The portal was launched in February this year to help students find a suitable university worldwide to pursue higher studies.
