Doha: Ministry of Interior (MoI) has published the list of documents required for availing the amnesty for illegal residents starting from September 1 for three months.
According to a post by MoI on their social media platforms, to apply for amnesty a person will require a valid passport or a travel document from the concerned authorities (embassies), an air ticket and ID card or copy of entry visa.
The application will be received by the Search and Follow up Department between 2pm and 8pm, Sunday till Thursday from September 1, 2016 to December 1, 2016.
The Ministry has issued notices announcing the Amnesty details in multiple languages for the benefit of the illegal residents. On their Facebook page MoI has posted the notice in Arabic, English, Hindi, Indonesian, Nepali, Tagalog, Bengali, Sinhalese, Malayalam, Urdu and Tamil.
Several runaway workers, including housemaids, families and others who have overstayed and people working illegally stand to benefit from this amnesty.
The latest offer has come ahead of the enforcement of a new law regulating entry, exit and residency of expatriates in December.
The last amnesty was declared in 2004 for three months from March 21 and extended for another month and ended on July 21.
Required Documents to apply for departing the country during the amnesty period for those who reside in Qatar violating the law of entry, exit, sponsorship and residence of expatriates.
1- Valid passport.
2- If passport unavailable, travel document issued from the embassy should be produced.
3- Open ticket or reserved ticket after 3 working days from the date of accepting the application.
4- ID Card or copy of entry visa.
Note : The applications will be received from Sunday – Thursday between 2 pm – 8 pm starting from 1/9/2016 – 1/12/2016
