DOHA: Pakistani rice, mangoes and meat have been showcased in a two-day food festival held at Ezdan Mall, Gharaffa to promote Pakistani agricultural products.
The event “Pakistan `Agro Food Festival” was jointly organised by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Zaoq Restaurants, Qatar, under the umbrella of Pak Qatar Business Forum (PQBF).
“The Agro Food Festival is first such event that has been organised to promote Pakistani Mango, Rice and Meat varieties,” said President of PQBF Ahmad Hussain.
“Such events will help promoting quality and taste of Pakistani agro-food products and create awareness among the stakeholders and importers,” said Hussain.
Several exporters from Pakistan, who had already their footprints in GCC, Europe and USA were present on the occasion and displayed their range of products as well as publicity material.
The festival was attended by Qatari dignitaries, government officials, media persons, senior officials of catering companies and supermarkets, besides importers. Members of PQBF were also present on the occasion.
Exclusive kiosks were established for holding Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between prospective customers and exporters from Pakistan.
Mehmmod Arshad, Chairman, Pak Qatar Business Council, an apex body of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCC&I) also spoke on the occasion and informed that holding such events are pertinent to promote Pakistani products in Qatar which have great following in other countries. Pakistan Qatar business forum was formed to promote trade, business and investment between Pakistan and Qatar and our arm in Pakistan which is Pakistan business council we are hand in hands to promote business and trading.
The idea of the agro food chain was to uphold the real taste of Pakistan which included meat, rice and mangoes. We will keep on inviting the sectors the delegates of the exporters from Pakistan.
There is a huge gap in between what should be exported and what shouldn’t be exported we want to fill up these gaps with the credibility and assurance of the quality of our products.
Success and business is all about credibility so that the mistakes done in past would not be repeated, said Ahmad Hussain while interacting with media.
