Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will implement a closure on Al Ghessen Interchange (N48) on Al Shamal Road, including the entrances and exits of the interchange in both directions, as shown in the map.
The closure begins tomorrow and lasts two months, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
Traffic heading to and from the closed interchange will be diverted to the newly constructed service roads on either sides of Al Shamal Road, which are located between Umm Al Shukhoot Interchange (N44) and Umm Ethnaitain (N54), as shown in the attached map. Both directions of Al Shamal Road will remain open to traffic throughout the diversion period.
The closure is located in Imgaitna area (Zone 75), and is required to carry out construction works as part of the North Road enhancement project.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.The Peninsula
