QE advances despite delayed trading

DOHA: Qatar Exchange (QE) traded for shorter hours yesterday due to a technical snag. Despite a delayed trading the benchmark index added 26.82 points or 0.28 percent to close at 9,667.36 points. The volume of the shares increased to 7.5m from Monday’s 6.3m  and the value of shares increased to QR 373.5m from QR275m.

Among the top gainers were Qatar National Bank which was up 2.92 percent to QR172.90, Doha Bank rose 2.57 percent to QR49.95, Ooredoo gained 0.88 percent to QR137.50 and Masraf Al Rayan up by 0.72 percent to QR28.15. The Banking and Financial sector index up 1.51 points while Insurance sector index up 1.38 points and Telecom sector rose 0.73 points.
