Doha: Vodafone inaugurated its new booth at Qatar University (QU), in College of Business and Economics, Building H08, female campus.
It is a new platform in line with the first-year anniversary of the memorandum of understanding Vodafone and QU signed in 2015.
Aimed at offering a wide range of products and services to students, the booth also serves to engage with students and provide them with career advice, entertainment and a lot more.
Mohamed Al Sadah, Chief Operating Officer, Vodafone Qatar, said: “The idea of a booth at QU stemmed from the concept that students know what they want, and empowering them to reach their potential and achieve the extraordinary was the important thing to do. The booth is a pleasant area for students to enjoy free time between classes and during break.”
Dr. Nitham Hindi, Dean, Administration and Economics Faculty, QU, said, “The booth will serve as a platform for the exchange of information and best practices to benefit our students and is part of the vital academic role the faculty plays at QU.”
Vodafone is working with students to help them enjoy their student life on campus, and develop their career paths off campus in workshops and trainings provided by professionals. Students also have the benefit to enjoy Vodafone services without having to go to the company’s retail stores.
Vodafone also plans entertainment and engagement activities led and produced by students.
Vodafone and QU signed the MoU to collaborate in education and research areas, and exchange scientists and researchers for instructional and training initiatives in business, finance and information technology. Both sides organised joint conferences, seminars and workshops.
Vodafone has assigned students to run the Vodafone Falla Club on campus where students help spearhead programmes and initiatives to help each other achieve the extraordinary.
