Doha: For the third consecutive year, Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Lulu Hypermarket yesterday launched a Ramadan Marketing Qatar Project, ‘Shop & Donate’.
The Lulu Group will donate up to 10 percent of profits on over 300 products to RAF to support RAF projects implemented for poor and needy people.
The project was launched in all branches of Lulu Hypermarket as part a cooperation agreement, which is renewed annually and includes this year a charity market for hundreds of products, starting from the last week of Shaaban until the end of Ramadan.
The renewal of the deal was announced at a press conference, attended by Dr Mohammed Salah Ibrahim, General Manager, RAF;  Shaijan M O, Regional Director, Lulu Group; Shanavas P M, Regional Manager; and Sanju Philip, Commercial Executive.
Dr Ibrahim said: “It is one of the distinguished projects and has witnessed steady growth. Two years ago, we launched it at one branch, but today we haver started it at all branches of Lulu Hypermarket in Qatar. The project has also been expanded in terms of the numbers of goods. We seek to realise a partnership based on goodness and cooperation to continue charity work in Qatar.” He praised efforts of the Lulu Group and its execution of the initiative, which is testament to its eagerness to participate in humanitarian services in Qatar.
Shaijan expressed happiness over the success of the partnership with RAF and said the project, which has gained popularity across Qatar, will feature more quality products, including electrical items and home accessories.
Shanavas said: “Our customers are the driving force behind the success of the initiative, with their acceptance and generosity towards the social cause, which has been instrumental in its expansion.
