Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud yesterday met Dr Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, Joint Special Representative and Joint Chief Mediator AU/UN for Darfur, and Chairman of the mission of UNAMID, and a delegation from Sudan Liberation Army/Movement led by Mini Arko Minawi and another from Justice and Equality Movement led by Dr Jibril Ibrahim.
Talks dealt with the possibility of the two movements joining the peace process on the basis of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
Al Mahmoud and Dr Uhomoibhi will continue consultations with both movements to reach common grounds that could pave the way for the movements joining the peace process.
