The ‘Qatar National Week’ celebrations was organised by the Qatari employees of Total E&P Qatar. Almost all of the employees as well as the contractors present in the company participated in the celebrations.
The Qatari employees prepared ‘Reeyouq’ inviting everyone for a breakfast of homemade Qatari dishes, and Arabic coffee, while distributing small Qatari gifts. On that day, the company canteen was turned into a National Day Majlis, where everyone was invited to indulge in Qatari dishes. For this event, the dress code was anything that represents Qatar.
A presentation called ‘Swalif Qataria’ was made, which contained all information about the history of Qatar, traditions, culture and habits.
Stephane Michel, Managing Director, Total E&P Qatar, and Dekhil Abu Salaa Deputy Vice President crowned the winners of two of its Qatar National Week Competitions, which ran for a few days prior to Qatar National Day.
Wafaa Al Saffar, who works in the Communications division of the French Oil and Gas company, won the ‘My Qatari Space’ competition, which called upon all employees to use their creativity and style to create and decorate their own space with the Qatari spirit. She was awarded with a special prize and received a customised trophy, This same trophy will be used for next year’s National Day competition.
A drawing competition was also launched for all the children of the employees of Total, with the theme ‘Qatar the future’. The judges announced 12-year old Muhammad Fadil Rafeeque as having the best drawing. He will be presented with a prize during the company’s upcoming Family Day celebrations, which will take place early January 2014.
Stephane Michel congratulated all the Qataris on the occasion of their National Day, wishing them continued strength, happiness and prosperity.
