The sixth edition of Katara Traditional Dhow Festival announced ‘The First Five Winners’ of Katara’s Fine Art contest in an honoring ceremony this Sunday. The first prize of this year’s fine art competition was grabbed by the artist Iman Abdullah Jassim Al Haidous, the second prize went to Mahesh Kumar Panara Buraijl. Fahid Ali Ahmed Al Maedeed won the third prize and Salem Abdullah took the fourth prize. Finally, the fifth prize was awarded to Ahmad Al-Zahed.
This award ceremony was held in the presence of HE Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, Ahmad Al-Sayed, Deputy General Manager for operation affairs and Dr Nadia Al-Madahka, Director of the Research and Studies department. The competition juror of this year edition were also present during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khalid conveyed his happiness and gratitude to participants, saying: “Participating illustrations carries new ideas, creativity, and innovation. Katara supporting this Fine Art Competition reflects its essential role in spreading awareness and knowledge as the paintings replicate communication to all languages and cultures which conveys the artist’s message to the world.”
