Doha, Qatar: Mohtaram stole the spotlight at Al Rayyan Racecourse, producing a sparkling Qatar debut to win the feature Al Beshariyah Cup in commanding fashion yesterday.
The 4YO grey colt, starting from the widest draw, was confidently guided by Marco Casamento to a 4½-length victory over 1900m for Al Ghazali Stud and trainer Mohammed Al Ghazali.
Settled mid-division early, Mohtaram patiently bided his time before unleashing a powerful turn of foot in the straight to overtake leaders Radad and Lattam. AJS Al Ruwais finished second, while Motaghatres claimed third, 2¾ lengths behind.

The meeting featured seven competitive races, showcasing both Purebred Arabian and Thoroughbred talent. Achmed opened the day with a 5¾-length win, breaking his seasonal maiden.
Al Shareeah impressed on debut, winning her 1200m Thoroughbred Maiden Plate by 7½ lengths. Midnight City edged out rivals in a thrilling photo finish.
Aaneef Zakhir secured his second career win in the Local Purebred Arabian Handicap, while Jaazmina Du Soleil began her season with a smooth 3-length victory. One Nation dominated the highest-rated Thoroughbred Handicap over 1700m, winning by 3¼ lengths.
