The Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi said yesterday that the State of Qatar understood early that development must rely on human resources and not just natural resources.
He said development of human capital comes through obtaining knowledge and implementing it to achieve sustainable development and realize the vision of the wise leadership of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who prioritised developing education.
The Minister was giving a speech during the First ISESCO Conference of Education Ministers held in Tunisia.
The minister said Qatar has made significant progress in its education system, highlighting the global competitiveness report which ranked Qatar's education system the best in the Arab world in the primary stage. The report also praised the quality of Qatar's secondary level education system.
