DOHA: Finance Minister H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi has said that Qatar’s 2014 annual budget will be  very special for the country on many counts. The forthcoming budget will be key for ministries, institutions and government agencies in terms of implementing their growth strategies, he said yesterday.

Addressing a workshop on “Qatar’s Vision: From Strategy to Implementation” held in the presence of  H E Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, the Finance Minister noted the finance ministry is currently  busy collecting necessary data and numbers from the concerned ministries and government agencies  to prepare the final draft of the budget.

The draft would be sent to the ministries and concerned government agencies at least three weeks in advance for discussion and to make necessary amendments to their proposed projects, if needed, he said.

Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit has said that his ministry is actively involved in the coordination of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to identify the challenges facing Qatar’s development agenda.

He stressed the need for further strengthening the coordination between different ministries and government agencies for the smooth implementation of Qatar’s 2030 Vision-related projects.

“The implementation of Qatar National Vision-related projects must be seen as a social responsibility. The Vision must be realised through actions based on a sense of  collective responsibility and hard work”, he said.
