Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has completed the personal interview stage for candidates applying to the third edition of the “Khibrat” (Expertise) training programme, paving the way for the launch of the new cohort in September 2026.

The interviews, conducted by the ministry’s Training and Development Center, marked the final phase of the participant selection process following the initial screening and qualifying examination stages.

A total of 70 applicants, including teachers and coordinators of Arabic language and Islamic Studies from government schools across all educational levels, applied for the program. Candidates underwent a comprehensive assessment to identify the most qualified educators with the greatest potential to benefit from the initiative and contribute to its professional development objectives.

The evaluation process is overseen by the program’s steering committee, which comprises a number of senior education leaders from the ministry.

The third edition of the programme is scheduled to begin in September with a one-week orientation in Doha, delivered by the Training and Development Center in cooperation with the Saudi Arabia-based organization responsible for implementing the programme.

Participants will then travel to Riyadh for a six-week immersive professional development programme, combining classroom observation and university-based training in schools across the Saudi capital.

The overseas component will run from September 27 to November 5, 2026.

Upon returning to Doha, participants will implement practical projects in their respective schools through May 2027, applying the knowledge and experience gained during the programme to strengthen educational practices and maximize the impact of the training within the school system.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education said the “Khibrat” programme forms part of its broader efforts to develop Qatar’s national teaching workforce by enhancing educators’ professional and leadership capabilities. Through exposure to international best practices and the exchange of expertise, the initiative aims to improve the quality of education and support the country’s educational development goals.
