Ministry earns QR13.5m from abandoned cars

DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment earned QR13.5m from abandoned cars in terms of fines and through auctioning and selling for recycling to those left unclaimed after they found parking in unauthorised areas.
More than 34,000 vehicles were removed and around 22,000 were sent for recycling, said Brig Ali Salman Al Muhannadi, Head of the Committee for Removal of Abandoned Vehicles at the Ministry. Four employees were honoured. They are Mohammad Al Kubaisi, Marzuq Al Mesaifiri, Abdullah Al Khulaifi and Hasan Al Maliki.
