Doha: The members of the Student Council of MES Indian School were sworn in for the academic session 2020-21 on May 21 at an 'Investiture Ceremony' held on Zoom virtual platform. The inductees include school appointees, secretaries of various clubs and house captains.
Each elected member was all set to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them.
The chief guest, Hameeda Kadar, Principal of MES Indian School, urged the council members to foster the leadership qualities and advocated them to uphold the core values of the school thus fulfilling the vision and the mission of the school.
The major student officials are: Toby James, Head Boy; and Nandini Rajagopalan, Head Girl. Fahad Muhammed Sajid and Zohra Mahwish, Head Prefects, Maheswar Sunil and Lubna Haroon Student Council Secretaries, Derik Saldanha, Hafsa Naeem Chohan and Aansmaria Siby, Campus Correspondents, Alvin P Joy and Nihan Kadar, Sports Captains, Mohammed Rameez, Cyril Jiji Sebastian, Pranay Jiljith T Master Sai Shiva Satwik M, Hibat Ali Ahmed, Amal Arif, Nikhitha A Abraham and Nidhi Bhatt, House Captains. Sooraj Suresh, Gayathri Sivakumar and Gayana Sam Santhakumar, student Editors, Master Muhammed Nayeem, Anas Mohammed Shoib, Akshara Sunil, Library Secretaries, Stanly Binu, Photography Secretary, Jayasankar, Punit Pande, Anushka Sumesh and Arsha Krishnan Nair, Cultural Secretaries for their respective Sections of the school.
The guests of honour, Dr. Jayasree Dinesh Menon, VicePrincipal & Head of Boys’ Section; and Annamma Shammy, VicePrincipal & Head of Girls’ Section; felicitated the members of the student council on this occasion. Vice-Principals, Headmistress, Heads of Departments, teachers and students attended the virtual ceremony.
ICT department under the guidance of Haroon made all necessary arrangements for the effective functioning of the digital meeting. Rema Devi, teacher, Department of English, compered the programme.
Earlier, Zohra Mahwish, Head Prefect, Girls’ Section welcomed the gathering and Fahad Muhammed Sajid, Head Prefect, Boys’ Section, proposed a vote of thanks. Akbar Ali and Zeenath Jalal, Discipline in charge of the Boys and Girls Sections respectively coordinated the event.
