Doha: Mohammed Henzab, President, International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), has been selected as a member of a new advisory committee formed by Italian Sports Centre (CSI) to formulate and follow up implementation of international initiatives in the field of sports and community.
The selection of Henzab came during an expanded meeting at the Italian National Olympic Committee in Rome, Qatar News Agency reports.
The CSI advisory committee for international initiatives includes 17 prominent Italian personalities in the fields of sports, politics, culture and media, among others.
They include Giovanni Malago, President, Italian National Olympic Committee; Silvia Costa, Member of the European Parliament; and Massimo Moratti, Italian business tycoon and Honorary president of Inter Club. The Italian media highlighted the formation of the advisory committee and said it will boost CSI initiatives which aim at using sport as a means of helping the most needy people, noting that the first initiative will be the organisation of an international campaign for the volunteers during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in collaboration with the ‘Save the Dream’ programme.
The media also highlighted the selection of Henzab as a member of the committee, pointing out to his call for unifying global efforts to address problems and making sports a means of changing the world and create a better future.
Henzab expressed pride to be a member of the advisory committee which includes prominent figures from all spectrums of the Italian society and works for noble humanitarian goals through sport under the umbrella of Italian Sports Council.
