Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has inaugurated ‘Pointer towards Good’ app on the sidelines of Social Network Forum.
This version of the application offers the social networks users to donate using their names or those they wish the heavenly reward would reach through pointing towards good without being charged any riyals.
QC launched a new application called ‘Pointer towards Good’ during the concluding events of Social Network Forum held few days ago.
Mohammed Al Yazidi, CEO, Financial Resources, QC, announced the inauguration of the application and stressed on the fact that QC utilizes technology so to effectively introduce its relief projects and campaigns. This way it facilitates mobilizing support.
Al Yazidi said, “We were inspired to implement this campaign as we believe that those who point toward good receive a great reward. QC utilizes technology to support charity work. It launched this new technique that allows social media users to spend their money and receive Allah’s reward through supporting charity projects around the world without paying any riyals. This project encourages the social media users to make their personal pages a means for promotion. They can register in the application which will allow them to access direct links for the projects thus circulate them”.
What makes this system distinguished is the fact that it can easily be used for promoting projects. Every time the post is shared, the initiator, the first user to share, will receive the points. This leaves a true value for people and a chance to compete in doing good, mainly because the points will allow the person to transform them into a charity project (such as building a mosque, drilling a well, implementing educational and health projects and others).
Al Yazidi said this step QC seeks to achieve. “QC launched this initiative to help people be part of good-doing. Users will donate using their names or those they wish the heavenly reward would reach through pointing towards good without being charged any riyals. We are updating a new version for this project through which it will be easier for users to deal with the system and will give them easy access to promoting links and other services”. The application allows the users to follow the projects they choose. Once they register on the website or through their cell phones, they can see the posts about the projects they choose, share and promote them. QC is prominent in the field of utilizing advanced technology in charity work. It was the first to use donation through text messages for different conditional and unconditional donations. It offers self-service devices in public places such as airports and public offices for 24\7 services. People can donate through credit cards or mobile credit balance. QC received Smart Government Excellence Award across Qatar in Kuwait, the award for best smart app across the civil society organisations. QC was able to positively respond with the beneficiaries’ needs.
