Hong Kong---Hong Kong stocks slipped 0.39 percent in opening trade Thursday after the release of data showing the US economy grew much slower than expected in the first three months of the year.
The Hang Seng Index fell 111.20 points to 28,289.14.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.27 percent, or 11.98 points, to 4,488.60.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.81 percent, or 18.30 points, to 2,273.28.
