Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has announced the opening of registration for those wishing to enrol in its Arabic language course for non-native speakers. The course will commence on April 12 and continue until mid-May.
The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center is considered one of the most important centers specialising in the teaching of the Arabic language.
Its Arabic language programme was launched more than 20 years ago and has graduated tens of thousands of students.
Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, Director of the Center, said the Arabic Language Programme for Non-Native Speakers is a distinguished and strong programme, as reflected by the high level of local demand.
He also noted the interest shown by a number of educational institutions from outside the country.
The Center has participated in teaching Arabic in several countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mauritius, in addition to teaching Arabic to a number of students coming from academic institutions in Russia. According to him, the programme has proven successful on various levels.
The Center continues to witness strong demand for its Arabic language courses for non-native speakers, with hundreds of students registering for each course.
The regular courses run for two months, while the intensive courses last for one month. In the regular course, students attend two classes per week, whereas in the intensive course they attend four classes per week. The curriculum is divided into three main levels, each of which is further divided into two sub-levels, in addition to a separate conversation level.
This conversation level focuses on daily spoken expressions, which are written in Latin letters and explained in English.
Several versions of the curriculum have also been published in other languages, including French and Spanish.
