Hong Kong stocks close lower

Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks ended lower Thursday, snapping two days of gains, while mainland Chinese markets tumbled on concerns about liquidity.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.37 percent, or 90.96 points, to end at 24,301.09.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index sank 0.96 percent, or 31.07 points, to 3,210.24 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 1.97 percent, or 39.81 points, to 1,979.58.
