DOHA: More than 500 low-income expatriate workers benefited from the free medical check-ups, awareness campaign and other services organised by Ministry of Public Health in Measieed recently.
The event was part of the ministry program “Health promoting workplaces” and was organized in collaboration with Ministry of Interior, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), V care Qatar, Indian Doctors club (IDC), Well care group and Indian Physiotherapy Forum (IPFQ).
Dr Sheikh Mohammad Al Thani, Director of Public Health at the ministry said, “it is a great pleasure and privilege to participate in the inaugural function of the awareness and free medical camp, We believe that knowledge lights the path to eliminate wrong practices. In the coming years, I am expecting that through such medical camps we can spread the knowledge on healthy lifestyle among the working population in Qatar and help them achieve good living standards.”
He praised the role of private organizations saying he expects more support from them in organizing events which have a greater focus on social and educational purposes in Qatar.
Dr Salah Abdulla Alyafei, Head of Health Education Programs section at the ministry, said, “It takes a lot of preparation, effort and team work to put together a camp of this type. More than 30 doctors and over 20 physiotherapists from various specialities were part of the consultation team at the Boom Construction camp in Measieed.”
The camp offered complete medical check-up by specialist doctors from Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology and Dental departments, physiotherapists from various specialties and nurses.The Peninsula
