LONDON: Donald Trump is now part of a three-pronged attack on the European Union, Guy Verhofstadt, one of the EU’s top officials and its chief Brexit negotiator said on Monday.
“I have just come back from U.S. and my view is that we have a third front that is undermining the EU... and that is Donald Trump,” Verhofstadt said in a speech at Chatham House.
The other two threats are coming from radicalised Islam and from Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who Verhofstadt said was also trying to undermine the EU project.
