SIS holds annual athletic meet

Shantiniketan Indian School held its 14th Annual Athletic Meet-2013 at Al Wakra Sports Club. The event focused on the motto ‘Talent wins games; Team work wins Championship’. The Chief Guest Jassim Dorsi, Head Coach, Eljaish Sports Club, in the presence of Ali Ismail M Doka, Captain of team, Eljaish Sports Club, SIS Principal and the Section Heads, declared the meet open.
In his opening speech, the chief guest urged the participants to exhibit and promote healthy competition by taking part with true spirit of sportsmanship. 
Vimal Krshna the Head Boy, led the March Past by the scouts and guides and the participants of all the four houses. This was followed by the oath taking ceremony led by the Sports Capitan Fayis Mustahfa. 
The following athletics emerged as individual champions of various sections. Sadiya Mohammed(Kiddies Girls), Ahmed Saber (Kiddies Boys), Dichha (Mini Junior Girls), Marwan (Mini Junior Boys), Fahiza (Sub Junior Girls), Suhaim Sajeed (Sub Junior Boys), Noora Musthafa (Junior Girls), Amanulla Fareed (Junior Boys), Ishika Kumari (Intermediate Girls), Sinan Sabahudheen (Intermediate Boys), Dana Anas (Pre-Senior Girls), Mohammed Hisham (Pre-Senior Boys), Camila Jaleel (Senior Girls) and Fayis Musthafa (Senior Boys).
Blue House, mentored by K C Nasir,  House Master, won the Over All Championship. 
School management committee members Abdul Shukur, Vice-President,  and Rashid Ahamed presented  the prizes to the winners.
One of the attractions of the day was the ‘parents’ event’ in whichMusthafa Kamal andHasna Mustahfa emerged winners. Shiva Khadka and  Meena Khadka bagged second place followed byDafa Al Adam and Hansa Ahamed. 
Shihabudheen Pulath, Vice Principal, won the first place in 100 meters race for teachers followed by Varghese Antony and Reda securing second and third place respectively. In the lady teachers event, Nighitha won the first position. Khairunnisa and Jamsheena stood second and third respectively.
