PEC wins Under-19 schools event

DOHA: The Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) beat Bangladesh M H M School by 7 runs to win the Qatar Under-19 Schools Cricket Tournament. 

The event - which was sponsored by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) - featured 13 top schools of Doha. 

The tournament - organised by the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) - started on October 6 and ended on November 17, a QCA statement said.

The participating teams were divided into four groups. 

In the final, Saif Ur Rahman of PEC won the Man of the Match award for his 31 runs and 3 wickets. PEC defeated Dukhan English Speaking School in the first semi-final match.  In the second semi-final match,  Bangladesh School beat MES by 1 run.

The winner’s trophy was presented by Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary of QCA, to PEC captain. QCA officials Malik Nazar Mohammad, Technical Advisor, Gul Khan Jadoon, Head of Domestic Cricket, Chowdhary  Mukhtar Ahmed, Senior Coach, Muhammad Amjad Baig, Joint Secretary, Sayed Hassan Raza, Joint Secretary of Domestic Cricket, and Aminul Islam, Member-School Cricket (Boys) were also graced the prize distribution ceremony.
